So, I essentially have two weeks to get my fleet tournament ready. This is basically outside the realm of possibility for me. I'm a perfectionist, and thus very slow. I'm also not an experienced painter, so often time I sit around trying to figure out what to do. Case in point, my Praetorian: This is where I'm at right now this is where I'm at right now. I thought this would go quickly, but there is a lot going on here. I want to do the model and all the detail justice, while having an interesting paint scheme. Unfortunately, I do not know how to do this. So, I spend too much time looking at it instead of painting it, trying to visualize what I want the end result to look like. We will see what I get done today. In addition, I have a problem. With a lot of help from BigBen, I magnetized my Cruisers/Heavy Cruisers. Unfortunately, we didn't really know what we were doing, and overtime several magnets fell out. About two weeks ago this was fixed… Incorrectly. I now have four magnets glued in the wrong direction, and I cannot remove them. I just took these out of the freezer, which has worked for me in the past when breaking superglue bonds on models. However, I have no way to pull on the little magnet, which is completely flush with the model. I have tried dropping them into a bowl, hoping the impact will dislodge the magnet but no luck. If you have any idea, please let me know. UPDATE: Calling it a day; as expected, I didn't get as much painted as I wanted to, but it's almost good enough to be considered "Tournament Ready". Maybe I'll finish it tomorrow, including the bridge piece.
